Alexis discovered aerial silks 4 years ago at AerialCLT, where she fell in love with it and the community. She's performed in many student showcases, at past Blooms, and this past February at Airborne Arts in Costa Rica! During working hours, her creativity is focused in Excel as an accountant in Huntersville, NC.
Growing up, Alyssa Zayak was the child everyone expected to run away and join the circus. As a former dancer she took to the air as the Lyra was a natural transition in exploration of movement and emotion. Alyssa's journey in the aerial arts began just shy of three years ago and ignited a passion and love for this art form and community.

I was a gymnast for 13 years and after a long hiatus decided to reignite my passion of performance and athleticism by giving aerial a try. I fell in love and have been a part of AerialClt for 2 years now. I love all the apparatus but my heart will always be with lyra!

Annie Vereen is the owner and instructor of AFV Exotic Arts, a jewel box exotic dance studio that's five years strong and a haven for creativity and confidence building. When Annie isn't teaching she's performing burlesque, exploring antique malls, snuggling with her cat, Professor, or rocking out on electric violin.
Hanging on a wall in the studio you will find a painting of Gustav Klimt's "Nuda Veritas" and a poem by Schiller that reads, "if you cannot please the many with your actions and your art, then please the few, for it is bad to please the many." This scarlet pole performance is about loving yourself even though you might be perceived differently.

For more than half of her life, dance music has been April Lowe’s heart, soul, and the blood in her veins. Countless nights on the dance floor, endless listening, and being surrounded by DJs and writers of electronic music built a solid foundation of knowledge that is continuously expanding now that she has immersed and devoted herself to the music that gives her life.

Darby Florian's love for movement began when she was a little girl watching a gymnastics competition on TV. She fell in love with the strength, flexibility, and grace the sport exuded. Learning gymnastics and competing for many years was an exciting time and taught her valuable lessons about performing. As an adult, she learned latin dances, and about 3 years ago she was introduced to aerial. During the day, she teaches middle school and by night she is a bendy circus performer.
Geeky Transcen-Dance was born from the love two people shared for dance and all things geeky. Mira Bella and Lou De Rah first discovered their passion for dancing with one another when they were preparing for their fantasy wedding in 2016. Mira Bella, has been dancing for over two decades, 8 of which has been spent training in the art of belly dance. She then entered the world of cosplaying after meeting her beloved in 2012. Lou De Rah, who had been cosplaying for many years before and had been a member of the royal ball court with the Miami Renaissance Festival in Vizcaya, easily adapted to the various ball room styles of dance, with passions leaning toward The Tango and Swing. Together they bring to life your favorite characters on stage with a delightful twist full of lust, excitement, enchantment and desire. Geeky Transcen-Dance brings it to you all, combining ballroom, belly dance and cosplay into one grand performance.

Jaclyn is a Charlotte based Graphic Designer who takes classes at Aerial CLT. Her gateway apparatus was pole, but she now practices on silks, lyra, rope, and trapeze as well. She spends all day just about every day creating things for other people, so performance pieces are the things she creates for herself. Jaclyn likes to travel the world, stopping at every cheesy roadside attraction along the way, as well as take pictures and craft.
Jadara has been belly dancing since 2006 and has been taking exotic dance classes with Annie Vereen at AFV Exotic Arts for over a year. Her Bloom piece signifies an internal battle of resisting the self doubt produced by the constant bombardment of photoshopped magazine covers, beauty advertisements, Instagram filters, etc that tell us that what we see in the mirror isn't pretty enough or skinny enough to meet society's artificial standards. RESIST and love yourself!
I was lured in to my journey with fire arts through my love of dance, and bellydance. I started bellydancing in 2004, after dancing all my life. The fire drew me in from the beginning, and then was escalated when I met a beautiful girl named Jenn who became my mentor in the arts, and one of my closest friends. Now I am performing professionally alongside an amazing community of dancers, fire artists, and circus performers in Phoenix, AZ.

Fire Magic. From the first mesmerizing glow I knew I had to become a practitioner. I love balancing a flaming scimitar on my body, an allegory for my relationship with fire. Danger. Balance. Co-existance. An elemental journey of control, desire and sensuality.
Besides fire, my other creative expressions include being an aerialist, poler and bellydancer.
