Marie is an aerialist from Charlotte, N.C. She was a competitive gymnast for more than 10 years, becoming a Level 10 gymnast and competing her final year at Junior Olympic Nationals in 2007. After a hiatus for college and graduate school, in 2015, Marie found her way upside down again and back into the air through aerial arts. She trains and performs on aerial silks and static trapeze, and has more recently begun training corde lisse. The combination of strength and grace, dynamic movement and purposeful stillness, is what she loves most about trapeze. Marie is excited to "return to her roots" by performing on trapeze, an apparatus that is reminiscent of her favorite gymnastics event, the uneven bars.
